Small waist and hips are ideal. Not medium. The shape of the pelvis is also important.

waist doesn't matter it's all about your shoulder to hip ratio.

hourglass figures aren't appealing either, most of the time at least there's exceptions.

What about hip-rib cage?

What about hip-rib cage?
doesn't matter much, having a larger rib-cage allows for more size.

you can fraud your rib-cage with lats, mine is tiny but nobody can tell.

How small are we talking? Your waist should ideally be proportional to your height.

Around David laid small provided your upper body is good. It’s not just the waist and hips that matter for midsection though. Good obliques, Abs, serratus, and lat insertions are also important overall

Small waist is life

That's not a low waist-hip ratio.

Medium-sized waist is masc, wide waist is just a sign of obesity.
It is. Look at how much his iliac crest sticks out compared to his waist.
This is probably the worst it could get unless you’re talking about Klinefeltercels

Optimal waist to hip ratio for men is 0.8

Your waist should be 20% smaller than your hips.

Wide shoulders, meaty lats, and a V-taper for upper body.

Only slightly though (which is normal) the hips are actually only supposed to be slightly larger than the waist, the problem only arises when the waist is too small in relation to the hips (which is obviously feminine, and a sign of klinefelterz).

Yeah but this is very rare for healthy lean men. Sometimes I see skinny people with this issue but their midsection is underdeveloped so when they fill out it looks proportional.

You can have a good shoulder to hip ratio but bad hip to waist ratio which can still give you an hourglass shape.

obliques can ruin your physique.

left is his real body, he doesn't even have wide hips.

would not be surprised if it's neither.

How do you know it’s caused by his oblique ? Could it not be caused by his pelvis ? What did his frame look like before training ?

Something else doesn’t look right with his physique? Is his head too small for his frame ?
pretty much, he photoshops also, but his obliques are what ruins his taper.

trevor signorino also has a hourglass figure caused by his obliques but in his case it looks good.

I don't want protruding obliques.

I do these weighted side bends, for lats.

But I realized they're probably training my obliques more. How do you train your lats (For V-torso) in a way, that doesn't hit your obliques at all?

rows don't train your obliques, just avoid twisting or sideways bending movements those usually involve them.
