will braces help my recessed chin or overbite?

Idk what’s going on fr. i’m getting braces soon, can’t ask questions cause my next appointment is the day they’re putting them on. can’t call them either cause i’m 14 and my parents won’t say sh. they just said "normal braces with elastics" and that’s it.

i think i have an overbite but i’m not even sure. could be just a recessed chin.
my lower jaw looks back. mouth looks weak from the side.
i’m praying the braces help with something.

but will they actually do anything for my chin?
will elastics fix overbite and make the jaw come forward even a little?
or am i just wasting time waiting for a miracle that’s never coming?

someone who’s been through this explain what braces can actually do.

Not sure getting braces and a palate expander in December should definitely fix overbite not sure about ressesed chin

Orthodontist train to make ur teeth straight noy give u apeal, but they help a lot get expand and spring

Yes if u have an overbite you probably have an recessed chin and braces help to fix ur overbite but watch out what kind of braces ur getting

Im also on braces treatment. If you are actually recessed you should get herbst appliance
