Will collagen powder work?

I'm thinking of buying like the classical 6€ collagen powder and was wondering if it will even work or is it just excess that my body won't absorb

Works for me. It's not a miracle, I don't look years younger or anything but I felt once my joints were pain free then my hair, nails and finally my skin improved.
