Finally will do my genio. The surgeon said he plans to advance my chin by 6-8mm. Is this morph viable?

The surgeon said it will be a sliding genio, so usually the max advancement is around 6-8mm, is this correct? He said that he will see both measurements and see which one fits better, but he knows that I want a good projection.
Looking at my ct scan I have a quite pointy chin, the problem is that I’m also downward grown, so I’m a little afraid of looking like a crescent moon after genio

U have deep overbite u need bimax not genio your chin projection is freaking good looking from this x ray. All u need is bimax with counter clock wise rotation and may be some downgraft

With genio please do not ask a surgeon for “8mm or 6mm” — take a proper side profile picture and show exactly where you want the chin to end up in relation to nose and lips, give it to the surgeon, and tell him to make it happen (obviously within reason, don’t be an idiot and draw out a 20mm pogonion…)
