Will i be recessed if i have braces

My front teeth are slightly crooked so i'm in need of braces im 15 ive seen allot of people say that braces will prevent forward growth and im looking for people who have had braces in the past to see what kind of results they've had and if there's any other way to go about my teeth.

i had straight teeth but i had a overbite and they put some kind of bands in my mouth to bring my maxilla back

i wouldn't say that they prevent forward growth(in some cases they do but its very rare)
i had damon braces and tbh they ascended me
