Will I become recessed if I get teeth removed

I have been recommended by the orthodontist to get my back left molar removed and potentially my wisdom teeth. He then said i should get 3 years of braces and some other shit. I feel like this is all bull shit, and he just wants to extort my parents' money. He said that because my back left molar is not coming through, my jaw could not be developing, but this contradicts everything I have seen on here with teeth extractions leading to recession. Could someone please help me

Could that be because of my teeth blocking the jaw development, as the ortho said, or would getting the teeth removed make me more resscessed?

If your jaw can’t fit all the teeth, you are recessed - it’s that simple. If your jaw is still growing (which it probably isn’t based on the fact that your wisdom teeth are slowly coming in), then it COULD affect your growth.

If your jaw has already finished growing and some teeth don’t fit, then extracting them shouldn’t affect much of your bone structure AS LONG as the last tooth in your face (post extraction) is at the end of your jaw. If you were to remove a molar in the back, that would leave a gap, the other teeth COULD shift, which COULD result in a worse side profile + loss of bone mass in that area due to the bone not being stimulated by a tooth.

But at the end of the day,
I’m not a dentist, so if I were you I would get a second opinion.

Based on the photo my best guess (based on experience cause I had my lower wisdom teeth removed), if you remove that 2nd molar your teeth will reposition to fill that hole.
Realistically you will PROBABLY need to have the wisdom teeth extracted as well, cause l can’t see a way they could fit in, especially considering the fact that the 2nd molar didn’t fit and you have slight crowding in the front.

Based on the photo my best guess (based on experience cause I had my lower wisdom teeth removed), if you remove that 2nd molar your teeth will reposition to fill that hole.
