By palate expander, do you mean something like mse/marpe? If that's what you are doing, there will be minimal changes to your face like maybe your cheekbones get a little wider. Of course this is assuming that your provider does a good job or you could get a asymmetrical face.

If it is a RPE (Rapid Palatal Expander) or similar you should NOT do it as it won't have the strength to make skeletal change, and will probably just damage your alveolar bone. I'm assuming you're 16 or so.

I'm curious about this aswell. Going to consult an orthodontist about getting a palate expander soon, hoping that my insurance can cover MSE, and I'm a bit worried about the notion of a tooth-borne expander.

There isn't something like that but I can help you out real quick

What do your teeth look like?
What's your goal with an expander?
Better pictures of your face?

All that an expander can do is slightly ROUND your face (if it is a MARPE, and depending on how much you expand)

it WILL NOT magically make your lower third stronger boyo.

i think by what you can see my lips definetely dont need to be any more fuller or wider. theyre already a bit too bit if they get any bigger it would become another failo. Thanks for the enlightenment

I wouldn't risk it with some big expanding cuz your nose is already wide and it will be more even more wider, crowns and mollar fillers sounds very good, braces is ok as long is no extractions and rubber bands
