Will rubber bands from braces alone recess me? if so how?

i was wondering if even with a palate expander things like class 2 bands would recess me somehow. is there anything i should talk to my ortho about or would the bands not recess me and in fact help me (like the ortho stated)

Prob will bring ur jawback depending on how bad it is but prob worth ngl

depends on the severity and whether you’re doing traditional class ii or short class ii but class ii overall often produces reciprocal vertical forces, resulting in maxillary and mandibular downward growth, mandibular recession, and clockwise rotation. you could ask your ortho if there’s any way to prevent possible recession.
