Thumb pulling doesn’t work from what I’ve read up on it.any genuine help is appreciated
My main question is about the retainers though- are they going to significantly limit the usual benefits one would get from mewing or thumbpulling or MPR or in general any of the exercises that claim to promote forward growth or widen the palate? You need to do it perfectly so in long-term it can change.
It worked for Jordan Wood on tiktokThumb pulling doesn’t work from what I’ve read up on it.
He’s angle grading a little bit by moving his head forward with a slight up turn ,It worked for Jordan Wood on tiktok

Look at the ears bro it’s from
The same angle
My only theory on what would work is heavy incisors chewing for 2 hours straight ,He’s angle grading a little bit by moving his head forward with a slight up turn ,
But regardless you would be retarded to say he hasn’t exhibited more forward growth .
However this is not from thumb pulling it’s just natural , and luck from puberty .
He is still pretty recessed aswell.
and would the use of a retainer limit movement of the palate? I assume it would but im hesitant to stop using the retainer in case my teeth revert. My only theory on what would work is heavy incisors chewing for 2 hours straight ,
As much much more force for a longer period.
But the goal isn’t necessary to move the maxilla but loosen up the sutures so the maxilla can move forward easier. So this would obviously work better during puberty or perhaps only during puberty.
I saw results from this but this could of just been look of the draw via puberty.
It makes sense that it would, and would the use of a retainer limit movement of the palate? I assume it would but im hesitant to stop using the retainer in case my teeth revert.
yeah this makes sense. and for clarity, when i say retainer im referring to an invisalign esque retainer, that can be removed. it goes on my top and bottom row of teeth and the retainer for the top set extends slighty to cover about a third of my palate (on the hard palate)It makes sense that it would,
However maybe not because 12 year old kids (basically there’s no limit of age when you can wear a retainer) can wear them any age in fact , this is very problematic because orthodontists obviously wouldn’t let a 12 year old wear one if it was gonna stop there forward growth as that would create even more orthodontic problems.
However I can’t give you a definitive answer as I’m honestly not sure .
I’ve heard a lot of people say it does but by the logic I just stated maybe not.
