i prefer it over tretinoin. less irritating and thus better suited for sensitive skin. Been using it every day.

there was a study that compared 0.3% adapalene to 0.1% tretinoin and both were shown to be similarly effective.

I also remember from a study that adapalene binds to slightly different retinoid receptor subtypes (gamma and beta) than tretinoin, so it is more effective in treating acne vulgaris.
