A 14-year-old boy has appeared in court in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin on Wednesday charged with strangling and sexually assaulting Lily Peters.

• Police arrested a boy, 14, in connection to her murder of Lily Peters, 10
• Peters' body was found in woodland near close to a walking trail in Chippewa Falls, northeast of Eau Claire, Wisconsin on Monday morning
• Fourth-grader had gone missing on Sunday night after being at an aunt's house
• Father reported his daughter missing at around 9pm
• Her body was found along with her bike close to a walking trail in the small town
• DA Wade Newell asked for bond to be set at $1 million
• He described how the boy 'punched the victim in stomach, knocked her to the ground and strangled her to the point of death and then sexually assaulted her
• Cops say the boy told them his intention was to break and kill the victim from the get go as he left the house and walked down the street with her
