Both a well renowned cardiologist and a massive serial killer end up in the same state of nothingness, then what would stop a person thats a nihilist and depressed so he doesn't care about his life by this point just go outside and shoot random people on the street and after that killing himself with some painless way? Isn't it basically terrifying and shows how life has no meaning and there is no objective morality? If the same serial killer theoretically truly believed heaven and hell exists then he would never do the deed and countless of people would not die. Saying that people who affiliate with some religion also commit crimes is just laughable because you asume that they truly believed in the first place. Majority of people that affiliate to some religion are not serious about it, they are just born with it and have taken it from their parents. If someone really knows when he dies he would go and burn forever he would never go and kill tons of people for fun, but by being an atheist you will face no consequences except a peacefull nothingness just like a extremely nice person
