I rescue pigeons because I like them and I remember this time that I had this gf and she found a really ill pigeon. I went 1hr bike ride to pick the pigeon and back to my house where I tried to give him some care and rest.

Same day she came back because she wanted to nap and when she came I went to greet her. She told me she checked the pigeon and said something like "yeah she's fine she moved her wing!" So I checked and the poor soul was agonizing. I took it and tried to give it some warmth and kindess in its last moments. A minute or two after that it took its last breath and passed away. While I was caressing it's body and putting it respectfully aside (I was of course affected by this moment and wasn't really feeling like talking) the first thing she asked me was if I was mad with her because I wasn't really talking for a bit, not even asked how I am or if I feel like talking. This fucking stupid bitch didn't matter at all in this I couldn't even mourn its death because she would spiral into these fucking selfish feelings. Still she cried for an hour making me feel like I can't even be sad by myself.

They just care about what the think their love is and that's all.
