Men, on average, dominate higher-paying industries like tech, engineering, and other STEM and business jobs which are more dangerous and stressful to women, which causes them to take much less stressful and even lesser paying jobs like education for example
When you compare men and women in the same job with the same qualifications and experience, the wage gap shrinks to 2 to 5 cents and even that isnt because of discrimination or the FUCKING "patriarchy", men on average work for longer hours, take lesser time off (women sometimes take even more time off for childcare)
and btw 60 percent of women only marry men who make more than themselves so men are still expected to be breadwinners
