I don't know, holiness churches at one time didn't allow men to wear neck ties, only bow ties. That's why if you look at old photos of men in those churches from about 100 years ago, they are all wearing bow ties. Going to movies and high school proms was considered sinful. I know of one lady in her 60s that said when she was in high school, her father didn't let her go to prom because it was considered sinful. Participating in sports was also sinful.
