Heres a honest answer. Yes short stubble is most of the time better than clean shaven, even with your bad beardhair genes (I have similar patchy beardhair).
The reason being is because it gives the face a better contrast (short black stubbles on white skin), it accentuates the jawline and chin and actually for me it gives more shades in the face and makes it look more 3-dimensinal, because of the better contrast in bright light.

It also makes a face look less "bland" and baby-face like. Without any stubble my face tends to look relly baby-face like.

I have very very similar beard genes, just slightly better moustache area and on the chin under the lower lip. but moustache doenst connect with lower bearhair on the jaw.

Still, after experimenting around, Ive noticed that it looks better with stubble, however you need to trim the stubble to be same length, because the bearhair grows at different pace.

Ive recently tried 2 mm length with the trimmer and it looks better than clean shaven. I think I might go slightly shorter though and will try next time 1.7 mm. It helps to have a professional Panasonic trimmer.

Also if you maintain a short stubble, the face skin gets less irritated compared to full clean shaven, because no blade actually touches and exfoliates the skin, it should also lead to less ingrown hairs.

completely cope and untrue. Were not talking about beard here, but very short ~ 2 mm stubble, which in most cases is better than clean shaven.

short stubble usually is better.

Unless one has estrogenic giga patchy beard (like gooks) that looks like you have soft, thin, pubic hair growing out of your face, then its better to go clean shaven.

My stubble looks very similar to Oprys on 2nd pic and it definitely looks better than clean shaven.
