I only have experience with Cialis. If I remember correctly it reaches peak blood concentration 2.5 hours after intake. 1h to 8h should be the most effective timeframe. It does not make you automatically hard, you need to be aroused. With 20mg, if you just kiss your girl once you can be rock hard. However if you have a very low libido it might not work. That's probably why they say it "only" works for 2/3 of people.
