Would trying to drop body fat whilst still growing be dumb?

I think there’s an obvious answer but I’m really tryna drop bf % and be in a deficit which I have been doing but inconsistently. I’m probably at 15% bf rn

I recently only turned 17 3 weeks ago and can’t tell if I’ve finished growing or not, I know there’s probably a few more growth spurts I have to hit and don’t wanna mess up my hormones by being in a deficit but I don’t wanna eat like shit either and be bloated.

I’m only 5’10 too so I’m not sure if cutting would be worth it?

its cope. I dropped bf % and grew 3 inches jfl. I'd say sleep and vitamins and the content is more important over the quantity of food.

unless u count everything u need which is unlikely
 
Ok thanks I seem to think so too. What’s a good deficit then? Lowkey wanna do an aggressive cut but don’t want it to be detrimental. I’ve got 2 months to get leaner before summer and I’m already around 14-15% bf

just go on a little deficient ur 17 no need to aggresive cut and u already claim 15 percent bodyfat jst walk a lot

depends on what you're doing
if you're going for an anorexic diet, yeah it will probably affect your growth and I'm saying this from personal experience
but as long as you're doing a rational deficit of no more than 500 you should be alright
but at your levels of fat tissue really hitting the cardio for 10 minutes more should do the job more than a caloric restrictions or other things

Moderate caloric defecit avoid doing anything too extreme (esp if you are still developing)... Cals in cal out. Walking is underrated. Get 10k steps a day.
