If it was possible to connect your brain to a computer or some machine that would give you an illusion of everything you want, you would leave a normal world and instead you would „live” a life of your dreams, without suffering, stress, frustrations, poverty and without anything that is negative basically, and you would experience love or anything that is important to you that would make you happy, If you’d want to be a PSL 8 200IQ billionaire prime forever young then with This machine it would be possible

Of course the sim, I wouldn't have to LDAR in it.

Appealing yes but it has no intrinsic value

I was thinking about this yesterday actually. I’d honestly lean towards picking the simulation since I feel like there are unchangable things in my current life that I’d rather just forget about with a simulation

Depends on whether or not I'd ever figure out it's a simulation

I chose real life because it's just.. real. there's no fabrication. a perfect simulation would be just too surreal for me. I couldn't handle a perfect life. people get angry over life's flaws but that's also what makes it so great. losing makes winning so much more satisfying. constantly winning would be numb. I think there was a scene in the matrix with one of the agents talking to Neo. basically, they had originally set up a perfect simulation. something still didn't go right. they discontinued it and continued a simulation similar to life before the war. in a perfect simulation, I just wouldn't feel anything. I value my life for what it is and what I can make of it. constant "perfection" is just vile.

Because it wouldnt be the same. And getting everything unchallenged is boring af.
couldn't part of the simulation include minor struggles and a feeling of being challenged?

I just like my life as is. maybe it is narcissism or whatever. All the sadness i go through just feels good and natural.

I guess. "perfect" is too subjective. but when I think of perfect I think of something like the society described in "The Giver" which absolutely disgusts me. if you mean perfect like a perceived perfect life in modern society then I would consider

I meant perfect by your own standards

shit i forgot to ask

why choose normal life over a life you could control?

If I wasn't aware that it was a simulation, then yeah I'd probably choose the simulated life. But if nothing is real, and I know that nothing is real, I'd probably lose the will to live.

omg npc mindset

thats the fucking point

reality doesnt matter, the only thing that matters is feeling, because feeling determine YOUR REALITY

what if my life is a simulation?

I'd choose the sim if a substantial portion of the human population also join the sim. Like other people inside the sim world gotta be real people and not NPCs.

We might be in a sim right now, but it's not 100% for sure. Whereas if you choose the sim, it's 100% chance that you're in a sim. If I were to punch a Chad IRL, there's a nonzero chance (not 100% because we don't know that anyone (including ourselves) is conscious) that the dude I punched is a living, conscious being; if I punch a Chad in a single-player sim, there's a 100% chance that the dude is a bot, so there's no possibility that the Chad will suffer true pain. That's why I need the sim to be a shared multiplayer world with real humans not NPC bots.
