i mean majority of pop artists aint that bad to listen to i think people tend to over hate stuff because its popular, like i think most people that come to find "underground music" kinda force themselves to like it for example panchiko quite a shit artist but its back story carries them hard. The weeknd has literal perfect production really hard to hate em same with billie eilish you just might not be the target audience if you hate thier topics or something but they aren't really bad artist unless you have a legitmate reason outside of "topic" to hate em.

i come from a classical and orchestral background so of course my favorite artists will always be any artist that uses instrumentals to their best ability sufjan stevens orchestral, kanye/travis scottrock/hip hop blend, madlib general, plunderphonics in general

also the more people listen i think the more people realize how important good songwriting is and why a lot of tiktok music tends to not stick the landing, good ass 15-20 seconds chorus or something then you listen the whole song and it just sounds like shit, void in blue, some of mitskis stuff as much as i like her

has a lot of potential just could never follow through the whole song due to song writing issues giving her lyrics a rushed feeling
