I don’t think so. It’s not even really a trend anymore. You could argue that the increased mainstream awareness is partially tied to the general political shift over the past few years. It’s not isolated, people, men in particular, carry more anger, skepticism, and emotional intensity.

It started with red pill content getting more mainstream attention and progressively evolved into the extreme, the black pill.
At the same time, we can see a political shift in many globalised countries toward extreme and right-leaning beliefs.

I don’t think that’s a coincidence, even if the main audience for black pill content is still mostly teenagers.
