Most people in my country either start driving at 18 or they start at 16 with an L (learner driver) sign and can only legally obtain a drivers license and start driving a car independently once they turn 18.
I'm still 18, turning 19 in 2 weeks and some people already view me as a subhuman cuz I don't have my drivers license yet cuz there was Covid-19 back when I was 17 and started taking the driving theory exams that you must pass in order to actually start driving and I was late to the game.
I wanted to wait some time because you were supposed to get Covid tested before every driving lesson so I didn't start driving but everybody else pretty much did. Plus I failed driving theory exam twice so I lost some time there as well. Once you reapply to take it again you have to wait at least 1 month.
I'm currently taking driving lessons and still am 18 and already seen as a subhuman loser because I haven't managed to get my drivers license in 1 year after turning 18. Brutal.
People already try to bully me, now imagine being 20 yo something and not being able to drive. People will either think you're slow as fuck and retarded and still taking lessons at 20, or if you're like 30 you'll be seen as an even bigger loser because you've pretty much given up on the idea of ever driving. I don't know which one is a bigger loser tho, the guy who's still taking drivers lessons at 20 and he failed multiple times, but he tries, or the 30 year old that gave up on ever learning how to drive and maybe never even started driving.
