The thing about countries like China and Russia is that while they have surveillance states these countries are still ultimately governed by people who actually give a shit about their countries interests. This means that in order to get harassed by the police, you kinda have to belong to one of these 4 groups:
1. Liberals/Advocacy for democracy
2. Anti-war (in case the government wants war)
3. General open hate of government
4. LGBT/Pro-degeneracy
Insofar as you just don't do this, you will probably be fine. These countries aren't the dystopias western propaganda claims they are.
Now compare this to the extremely corrupt governments in the west, WHERE YOU CAN GO TO JAIL FOR COMPLAINING ABOUT MIGRANT GROOMING GANGS RAPING YOUR CHILDREN. China is NOWHERE near as harsh on enforcing penalties for what people say on the internet as the west. And if such penalties are given, then it has to be something that actually matters to the government. You will absolutely not get punished for complaining about crime or immigration. In the west, you will.
"But...but...but...what about their evil social credit system?"
You mean the same social credit system that also rewards you for good behavior Vs the cancel culture in the west where every corporation under the sun will fuck you if you step out of line, while still getting nothing in return if you don't? How is that better than the social credit system?
Just face it. This meme that people are more free in the west Vs the east is just another example of the brainwashed masses falling for propaganda. The west treats it's people WORSE than nations like China or Russia. And soon, WAY worse at that.
