You can settle into the view of 'experiencer' in any situation - just passively observing whats happening around you.
This is true presence and 'real' life. You are not your thoughts, you are the WITNESSER of whatever is coming into your mind
You ARE the awareness BEHIND the eyes. Thoughts are false idols, we give them too much credence. They are mirages which we treat as solid - all can be blown down with the removal of our attention.
When we let our thoughts cloud our direct experience, we end up living in this MIRAGE state, stuck in our heads wondering and reacting to a rabbit hole of ideas and thoughts, worries and assumptions, predictions and pondering, NONE OF WHICH ARE REAL
There is no need to judge everything you see, to compare, to wonder and to extrapolate meaning to everything you see
Sit the hell back and enjoy the show. Not everything needs an explanation. Meditation is effectively increasing our capacity in this skill. Can you just BE with experience? We tend to meditate sitting cross legged on the floor, but the skill of focused and non-reactive awareness can be practiced in any situation we find ourselves in. Think of yourself as someone sitting back and viewing whatever is coming in on the ‘cinema screen’ of your mind.
We have a direct view of a very isolated and limited slice of life depending on what we are focusing our attention on at the time.
We then put together this ‘film reel’ of isolated conscious experience and try to make narrative and meaning out of it - not realising that our limited perspective can often leave many things unnoticed and unexplained. This is our issue as humans in our desire to explain and control everything we see happening. The mind runs wild with such explanations, often to the detriment of our inner peace.
So stop doing time.
Remember boyos that reality only exists in the mind. You can make it whatever experience you like!
Be ok with what you're seeing and what you're seeing will be ok with you.
