There is a logical explanation. You hate yourself because, in you there are also biological filters. When you see yourself in the mirror you feel repulsive because your own system rejects you, it is that irrational. Why the thing supposed to keep me alive (body) makes me wanna kill myself I ask of me... Just as it is irrational to desire the same as Chad, but without having the opportunities he has.
So, if it is irrational to desire the same as other people, why suffer for not having it? The curious part here is that we are not the ones who suffer at will. It is our ego or biological body that makes us suffer irrationally. It's stupid, it creates our needs in the first place, and then punishes us for not being able to satisfy them. It's all a trap of our biology. Don't fall into that pit of biological suffering, it is stupid.
I don't think anyone says, βOops, how horrible I am, I'm going to suffer.β Rather, it is certain states of cerebral neurochemistry activated by our brain upon receiving certain information (perception of face interpreted as ugliness), which activate depression and suffering, which in the end, make no sense and prolong the pain. It makes no sense, because reality is already as it is, suffering and hating oneself does not change it and it is a waste of energy resources at the cerebral level to enter into those states. I am only clarifying this so that we do not fall into the trap of the ego.
I am not saying that it is wrong not to accept oneself. It is perfectly valid to hate oneself, the point here is that hating oneself all one's life may not be the most optimal way to live it and leads to huge amounts of suffering and pain for the one who suffers from it. I believe that the most optimal response to the dilemma of life is the redirection of hatred towards activities that allow us to improve our life and to be able to diminish our self-hatred. Directing hatred outwards instead of inwards.
