If you serve/help others and self improve, then you are serving God. regardless if youre a christian, muslim, atheist etc.

One time my family got into an argument of ‘Oh muh muslims bad bc they dont help out others’ when my cousin got free food from a church. I thought to myself why make something positive into a negative?? They did an amazing job in distributing food to people. Whats to be angry about and argue who’s better?
Have you seen him who proclaims allegiance to the Divine System, but denies it in action? He is the one who repels the orphan, the widow, the helpless, the one in a lonely state And urges not the feeding of the needy. And participates not in helping those who have lost their jobs, whose businesses have stalled, and whose hard earned income is insufficient to meet their basic needs. Ah, woe to the adherent ones! Those who know not what their adherence is meant to be. 107:1-5
Indeed, We have bestowed upon you Abundant Good. Therefore, follow the commands of your Sustainer who nourishes every cell in your body and convey them to others so that they might follow as well. And sacrifice your comfort for the welfare of the community. It is your opponent that will be cutting himself off from the Abundant Good. 108:1-3
