Discussion Does anyone else hate upscale restaurants?

A few weeks back i was at this restaurant in a very posh neighborhood in a another city in was visiting

This is the restaurant I went to. The ambience everything was amazing and there were many luxury cars parked in the driveway woth valet parking and a host dressed in a suit who took us to our table needless to say I was impressed. I thwn sat there and saw the menu and my heart sank seeing the prices. I reluctantly ordered a meal and left and I was unsatisfied. Maybe it was the curry in me but I couldn't digest the fact that I paid so much for so little food. Like sure the food was delicious but the quantities were so small. I just can't enjoy myself in these kind of places tbh.

I like Asian upscale restaurants like Hakkasan, Nobu, Roka ect. The portions are good and the food is very flavourful.

Don’t really like French fine dining though.

No and this is before GST and inly had 2 small naan and a small portion of the dish. Main dishes qete iver 800. My bill came to about 3200

But I grew up in extreme poverty so idk.

I don’t hate them but I don’t have any reason to go to one, even with a girl it would be special occasions like anniversary dinner only if even that, I usually only eat out when I travel because eating at home is cheaper and better.

Relatable. And it’s especially worse in South Asia. Everyone acts uncivilized but suddenly here they try to act super civilized. It’s cringe and sad to see. Best to just get homemade meals or fast food places.
