0.1% Tretinoin Fucks me up

I have shit acne scarring and I’ve been consistent with tretinoin but it just makes my face more inflamed and dry. Would accutane be a better substitution or anything else? I don’t eat sugar or processed foods and I can’t get anything crazy since I live w strict parents.

I am currently on 20mg and I only got dry lips and a little dry skin. It depends from person to person but don’t let urself get brainwashed from the fearmongering on accutane. It is so fucking worth it. I nearly wrote the exact same thread as u a few months ago lmao, so I can really feel what ur going through

Yea bro you used it way too much using it everyday at 0.1% you def burned your skin, you're supposed to only use it once a week when you first start and you shouldn't start at 0.1%

Your moisturizer is probably bad if you moisturize at night you shouldn't wake up dry try to get a really thick moisturizer and if you're using tret gel I would switch to the cream version, i switched from gel to cream and now I don't need to use moisturizer anymore.

Get one of those pimple popping tools on amazon with the circular tip and put hot water on your nose to loosen the blackheads then just pop all the blackheads with the tool. don't worry about damaging the skin since popping black heads isnt the same as acne and its the only way to get rid of them since they are pretty much just hardened dead skin and sebum in your nose pores and then just cleanse your nose everyday and apply tret to nose. The cleanser will make sure sebum and deadskin cells wont build up in the pores anymore and tret stops the production of sebum

in terms of diet, I eat organic foods and whole wheat stuff in hopes of my acne scars being less inflamed. No fast food or school lunch I try to eat as healthy as possible.

You can do both (stay low on accu). I doubt you were prescribed the .1% but if you want id recommend buy a lower %. Shit gets easier w time.

Tazarotene 0.1 is better and people tipically tolerate it much better but if u alr dont tolerate it well i would start at 0.5
