some ppl only need grafts. most the time ur problem is the vector if its enough to srsly bother u. depends if ur problem is actually from a -ve vector or not since ur eyes arent bulging which rules out decompression. ur infras dont seem that bad tho, i dont know wat u think is wrong w em?

cool, now when u get the implant consultation also tell me if they will just say a standard implant is enough or you need custom.

you are saving me a lot of money here 🤣🤝

Fat graft.

Fat is superior to implants because it restores native soft-tissue volume with living autologous tissue, allowing the grafted adipocytes and stromal vascular fraction to integrate into the recipient site and potentially improve skin quality through regenerative effects.

Infraorbital implants primarily provide structural augmentation of the underlying orbital rim or midface skeleton, which can be beneficial in cases of true skeletal deficiency but does not directly address the soft-tissue atrophy that characterizes most tear trough deformities.

Fat grafting also offers greater contour adaptability, enabling micro-aliquots of fat to be placed precisely within sub-orbicularis and deep fat compartments, producing a smoother transition between the lower eyelid and cheek.

Also autologous fat carries lower long-term foreign-body risk, whereas implants introduce potential complications such as displacement, palpability, infection, and chronic inflammatory response.

Although fat grafting has variability in graft survival and may require staged treatments, its biocompatibility, regenerative potential, and superior soft-tissue blending generally make it the preferred modality for infraorbital volumization, while implants remain more appropriate when the primary issue is osseous support deficiency rather than soft-tissue volume loss.

Overall, I'd recommend fat grafting if you already have some mass in that area.
