Here in my state it's the opposite. For food stamps you need to get a job where you work at least 80 hours a month and still make less than $1600 a month. The only jobs that can do that are minimum wage jobs (and that's literally 80-90% of jobs). You can hop on even more benefits if you're an immigrant or have kids. I just got approved for food stamps while working a part time job and am looking to get assistance for my utility bills too. These jobs don't pay. The ones that do are completely dead end and will ruin your body. Don't stress, hop on assistance, until you get an opportunity that really matters. Just avoid telling people about it.

But it gets to a point, its a major turn off after 25, people start dogging on you to. But if you don't care about that, it's ok. What matters most is your making money, not leeching off parents into your old age.
