Yeah, but it's not anything like English.Its not always the education tbh. You guys are speaking Spanish in Cuba right? Literally a European language just like the English. Meanwhile Turkish is a whole different world compared to them, its just kinda difficult to pick up a language that has a completely different grammar, logic and vocab than your native language.
Dont get me wrong a lot of them still will try their best to communicate with you but its best to know that most of them are only slightly better than complete beginners
And even in Tunisia they speak really good French(European) and also English decently as well as the Arabic which is even more alien than Turkish (different alphabet etc)
I am fine as long as I can order stuff fine but it would probably do me well to learn some basic turkish
