I found this product on BG-Pharma, where it costs only €13.
Brimonidine tartrate 0.2% eye drops, solution 5 ml – BG Pharmaceuticals
The active ingredient in the famous Lumify is brimonidine tartrate 0.025%. Pharmacologically, it belongs to the alpha-2 agonists and is used in low doses to reduce eye redness. That is also the only reason why Lumify works so well compared to eye drops available in Germany or anywhere else in the EU that advertise making the eyes scelera whiter. However, eye drops containing brimonidine tartrate are not approved for over-the-counter sale here in the EU and on the gray market, Lumify and similar products containing brimonidine tartrate often cost over 60€, which is a total rip-off since after all, Lumify costs only $10–20 in the U.S.
That’s why I think this product could be a promising and more affordable alternative however, unfortunately, the product doesn’t have a product image on BG-Pharma and has a much higher concentration of brimonidine tartrate (0,025 vs 0,2). So I’m not sure exactly which eye drop product this is or whether the concentration is actually that high, but it would definitely be worth trying out if you’re ordering something from BG-Pharma anyway. I’ll probably wait until fall to order from BG-Pharma again. So if anyone wants to try it out before I do, feel free to let me know how it goes.
