Around 10ish months ago I discovered looksmaxing, I was 13 and actually started being concerned about my appearance, I started mewing probably a year ago and ever since I have definitely gotten some more MM of forward growth. Call it cope all you want, I ascended from a lmtn to a hmtn in a year. Obviously I didn’t just do that as I dyed my eye lashes, used lash serums, proper skin care etc but overall mewing has ascended me the most.

Your conclusion is built on a mix of confirmation bias, natural puberty changes, and subjective self-assessment rather than anything scientifically reliable.

At 13–14, your face is already undergoing significant developmental changes—bone structure, fat distribution, and skin quality all improve naturally with time. Attributing those changes primarily to “mewing” is a classic case of misattribution. Current evidence does not support the idea that tongue posture alone can meaningfully alter maxillary growth in a noticeable way within a year, especially without clinical orthodontic intervention.

Additionally, terms like “LMNT” and “HMNT” aren’t objective or medically recognized categories—they’re internet-created labels that encourage exaggerated self-evaluation. This makes your perceived “ascent” more about changing standards and perception than measurable structural change.

Other factors you mentioned—skincare, grooming, lash enhancement—have immediate and visible effects. These are far more likely to explain any improvement in appearance than subtle skeletal changes.

In short, what you’re experiencing is a combination of normal maturation, improved grooming, and cognitive bias—not proof that mewing has significantly altered your facial structure.
