Should I get any orthodontic intervention? My dentist wants me to get elastics on my braces but I’ve refused because I heard it recesses you

Yes they are, I’m just scared my lower jaw gets brought back or something happens with my maxilla which is alr not ideal

Should I get any palate expanders? And should I get herbst to align my teeth and bring my jaw forward without recession, since I saw that treatment is good for ascension

JFL at your iq nigga. there are dozens of types of elastics strategies that orthos use, reputable ones (as OP states he goes to) don’t use elastics patterns that retract the upper teeth to fix overbites nowadays. In fact, they tend to use patterns that bring the lower teeth forward. Even if they were to use an upper teeth retraction method (which is not likely) it would have zero effect on your bones. stop fearmongering with your tiktok knowledge
