She and her friends got into the passenger seat of a 500 hp car with him, fully aware that he was drunk. He was the rich, spoiled, popular kid so ofc they agreed immediately. They sped down the highway at over 100 when the car suddenly went of course and flipped and crashed. She died on the spot. The others survived with serious injuries. Honestly I find it hard to feel much empathy for the girls in situations like this. She kinda brought it on herself

Doesn't work like that. In US justice system. The intent is more important. Under 18 + first offense + no intention to harm almost always juvenile detention not prison. Cases like this happen all the time. Most DUl cases involving minors stay in juvenile delinquency court. This kid most likely will get some probation,
