Is dry fasting even advised?

Not smart. What's the reason? At 16 you should do a 2 day fast tbh.

no but one day of dryfasting = 3 days of waterfasting
your body breaks fat into water so you won't die, but after 3 days its life threatening. 1 day is ok

I'm about 10% body fat, so I guess I would shrivel up and die, after only 24h dry fasting lol

probably not but no point in fasting at that bf

I tried dry fasting once, to see if it helped with a skin condition (keratosis pilaris/chicken skin, if anyone's familiar and has any ideas that don't involve daily exfoliation hmu)
Surprisingly the first 3 days were easy, day 4 I got mad tired though and decided to end the experiment.
The strangest thing was gaining weight from day 3 to 4, it was a soft dry so I just assumed I had some water from showering get absorbed thru the skin.

Word of advice, don't break you fast at the event, it's very likely you will get explosive diarrhea from your first refeed after a 7 day fast, especially if you refeed on "party food."
Refeed the day prior, at home with a toilet nearby. If you can get bone broth that's amazing, but if you can't just make one of those packet soups.

It will not make you that much slimmer just so you know. Would have been a better 7 day challange to eat and exercise popperly instead. Enjoy suffering from day 3 to day 7.

yes but that takes too long to get a chiseled face

lol explain the science behind that then
TL;DR
A prolonged state of low insulin increases insulin sensitivity tremendously, which in turn influences the way your body ultimately uses (or stores) energy.

Most hormones work with a negative feedback loop, which means that expression is downregulated when there's too much of the hormone circulating* and vice versa, goal is to maintain homeostatis.
Regarding insulin specifically we have two distinct mechanisms:
1. Lean tissue - Gets desensitized slowly but surely due to a life of sugar and 6-meals-a-day. Type II diabetes is a disease of modernity.
2. Fat tissue - Never really gets desensitized, in practice.
So now you end up with suboptimal partitioning of nutrients. Ever wondered, if given a budget of 1000 kcals how does the body "decides" if that's going into fat or creating muscle? Well, if the muscles aren't answering to insulin's knock you can bet all the fat will happily take up all those calories, and you end up just getting fat while getting no gains for your hard work at the gym.
Fixing this is as simple as getting the insulin to not show up anymore, so that the muscles start answering it's knock again. You can also use some chemical assistance (metformin) but the it's ancillary at best. The key is to just not eat.

After a few rounds of prolonged fasting, I get sick pumps at the gym from eating carbs + don't get fat so easily anymore, and it's been almost a year
>"you'll gain everything back!"
sad copers BTFO

So yeah, fasting was nothing short of a revolution for my looksmaxing efforts.

this is so true jfl I have been doing nothing for 3-4 months because of the lockdown after losing 15 kg and maybe eating more then average and I haven't gained any weight,
also a year ago I lost 20 kgs and I didn't do shit for 6 months and I lost like 1kg and I became like 3 inches taller

weight loss is not, and also not fasting, but dry fasting is fucking dangerous and unhealthy, it also lowers your metabolism much more
because you don't have water

1 day dry fast does nothing to me ngl only more than 2 days is bad
do you really think our ancestors wouldn’t have had to dry fast every now and then due to lack of water?
