Hey everyone, I’m 16 years old male 5'7(short compared to my genes) and know for sure my growth plates are still open. I’m considering using Arimidex (anastrozole) to delay growth plate closure, hoping to potentially extend my growth window.

thinking about dosing at 0.25 mg every other day for about 8 months and then tapering off slowly. I also plan to lose a bit of fat first, since fat converts testosterone to estrogen via aromatase.

I have some background with ADHD and OCD and used SSRIs(fluoxetine) for anxiety in the past but stopped and currently feel pretty stable. I’m worried about how Arimidex might affect my brain development, mental health, and hair.

Here’s what I want to know, and I’d appreciate answers based on science or medical experience:

  1. Can aromatase inhibitors like Arimidex negatively affect brain development in teenagers, even if estradiol levels are kept mid-low (around 10–15 pg/mL)?
  2. Could Arimidex increase risk of hair thinning or balding at 16?
  3. How do SSRIs like fluoxetine interact with aromatase? Can they raise aromatase activity enough to counteract Arimidex?
  4. If I experience mood or cognitive problems on Arimidex, would starting fluoxetine before or during the AI cycle help or cause more problems?
  5. Does Arimidex lower serotonin levels, and could that worsen ADHD or OCD symptoms?
  6. When taking Arimidex, do I need to get an E2 blood test before starting, during treatment, or after? (i probably can’t get all)
  7. What’s the best dosing schedule or cycle for Arimidex? Should dosing be adjusted based on E2 blood levels?
  8. Could Arimidex permanently reduce my iq?

yeah i kinda figured it out already
anyways i came to a conclution of taking arimidex for 8 months 0.25 EOD with hgh or pep then taper off
i really don't fucking care about the temp side effects, it is way more important to me not to suffer depression and anxiety every waking moment of my life from being short.

thats a way too low dose, if youre not blasting hgh than this dose of arimidex is pure cope, you actually want to nuke your estrogen

ye well funny thing is my dad still has a pretty decent hairline at 45ish years old so i thought i didnt have to worry about it either but apparently arimidex is no good for hair:feelsthink: anyways ill answer ur other questions since ive been taking arimidex for about 2 months , low dose is day (1mg, 3days a week so almost 1mg every 2 days)

1. yes they can based on research , i personally didnt notice any other side effects and somehow managed to score a passing grade for maths(probably the first time ive studied at home in my entire life as well) while on arimidex
2.
3. it depends on ur dose , i havent done my research on anti depressants so im not sure how much arimidex u need to counter a dose of fluxetine but im pretty sure that anti depressants need to raise estrogen to boost how ure feeling , if u block it out id imagine its pretty useless(dont quote me on that not 100% sure)
4.if u experience cognitive problems its probably best to drop arimidex , not worth being a vegetable in ur 20s cause u wanted to grow a few inches more. though its not that uncommon to experience mood shifts im pretty sure
5. arimidex lowers estrogen and estrogen lowers serotonin levels , i personally dont feel any different from when im off estrogen blockers , my life is pretty simple and repetitive so i dont think i noticed any worse moods then the ones im usually in. also yes it can worsen ocd
6. get it before taking arimidex and during treatment , if u cant even get both at least get it during treatment
7.yes it should be ,if ure not taking testosterone and ure just taking ai by itself it should be taken in small doses , especially if u arent fat. 0.25 should suffice , maybe every day or 0.5mg every 2 days if u cant find 0.25 on the market
8.it can create congnitive problems but thats probably if u dose ur ass off like 2mg every day or some shit , it shouldnt be a problem if u do low doses
also rep me for high effort replies bhai:ogre:

Don't worry about arimidex. Just embrace being short and be confident. That's all you need

if i keep my e2 levels at 10-15 range then the brain and emotion related side effects that bad?
should i only start ssri's if i start to feel shitty? or consider taking before starting ai?
is their any nootropics i could use to counter brain related sides?
i don't think ai's could make me bald or something since im in mid puberty, i think dht related hair thinin only happens after puberty.
oh and i also heard it could potentially stunt hgh related stuff in the body is that true?
