Any expectations. First day dictates a lot so I better make it useful tbh. Might break the dry spell in college aswell

The only problem is that I’m usually quiet outside my social friend group from high school. Not nessecsrily shy. But literally all of them except for 1-2 is going to the college I go to. So rip and it’ll be harder since the majority of people from my HS is moving to the same college.

17???
Isn't this a little too young for college? In school you need to be around the same age as the other people to fit in.

i believe in the US highschool goes from 15-18 if I stand correct. over here where I live it goes (highschool) 13-16 then college 17-18

im working on a huge thread about this
nice looking forward to it.

Basically what I did was expose myself to as many groups as possible. first thing I did when i arrived when everyone was outside was head straight to a group of people I knew even though I wasn't necessarily friends with them. chatted and hanged with them.

I made sure to always stick to a group. not just standing around looking lonely by myself ( my HS former self would've something like that JFL)

most classes I had people I knew so would sit next to them. for the ones I don't I would just sit next to table with people. basically invite myself to it.

I definitely noticed a-lot more attraction from others as the girls from my previous school would say my name and sit closer to me lmao.

I would definitely attribute this to looking more NT from getting a haircut, bulking then cutting. Male grooming. and being open as from before i was very closeted. ( arms crossed, didn't speak a word, always fidgeting) Now I'm more relaxed more confident with an open posture.

and have a NT resting face. e.g not a resting face that seems uninterested and looks like he doesn't want to talk to anyone. ( I always had my earphones in during HS acted like I didn't want to talk. always on my phone when others we're socialising. usually when I'm out of my social group and don't know anyone in the class and then I wondered why no one didn't talk to me JFL)

that pretty much sums up what I did but I still have a-lot to improve on especially my speech and a bit of holding conversations as I still stutter from time to time as I speak. Once I'm able to improve on those aspects college would be a breeze.

hope this might help in some way.

edit: hanging out in a group is considered a halo effect making you more attractive.
