Hey guys. I wanted to share my long and detailed cycle taking 2,4-Dinitrophenol (DNP) so far. If you don't have the time, I'd skip this post. In my opinion, most DNP threads are lame as fuck. They aren't detailed and mostly vague. I have a lot of self-learned pharmacology experience, researching nootropics and different chemicals since a young teen which helps a bit. My DNP is powder and verified with a lighter test. I don't like already-dosed capsules because you can't do the lighter test (fillers) and it'd be difficult to adjust the dose. I weighed mine with an milligram scale, and put it into 000 capsules that can comfortably fit up to 500mg.
If you are going to take DNP, please for the love of god do NOT take it alone. I am running 2 different stimulants, and 7 diff supps to counteract its effects. Do not be stupid thinking the current dose you've been on for a few days with low sides means raising the dose. If you're going to tiltrate up, please do so after 5 days which you will have close to peak concentration in your system. I also think it'd be very stupid to take DNP on steroids, unless you're already blasting and cruising maybe.
DNP can KILL YOU if you're dumb with it. It should be treated with a lot of respect.
--
To start off, what is DNP? DNP causes dose-dependent mitochrondrial uncoupling, causing the rapid loss of ATP (energy) as heat. It was banned in the US in the 1930s due to cataract formation in women (.1% of women) and idiots taking too much of it, thinking more the better, and people DIED. DNP powder will increase your TDEE (not BMR) by 15% for every 100mg. Normally, you can safely lose .5%-1% of your bodyweight a week. DNP however absolutely dominates that being able to lose .5-1.5 pounds of fat per DAY. Now I am sure you can see why people take this.
For a bit of background, my goal is to lose 35 pounds and be 14% bodyfat. I don't care about being leaner, I'm already muscular and I want a weight I cain maintain year-round. I believe I can lose that 40 pounds with a 28-day cycle. Factoring in water weight, I'd burn maybe 30 pounds of pure fat. I don't mention my weight during the cycle because the scale will be inaccurate because you will gain a bunch of water weight, and it'll take a week post-cycle to go back to normal.
FYI, I will NOT be sharing my source for the DNP.
Here are my stats:
20 male | 6 foot/183cm
SW: 260/118kg
GW: 220/100kg
26.3% BF | 25.7 FFMI
All doses taken at night
Also, I did take a comprehensive metabolic panel for my kidney & liver function before this for unrelated reasons. All numbers were within-range, and blood pressure was very good. Keep in mind, DNP dosage is weight-dependent. 400-500mg for a 260 pound male WILL be different compared to a 160 pound male.
--
Day 1 (220mg): Wanted to test out the waters with this dose. Took at night, no sides as expected. Took all my supplements after consuming the DNP.
--
Day 2 (400mg): Woke up feeling rather groggy, and slept like half the day. I still had a good workout though, and my lifts weren't diminished at all.
--
Day 3 (400mg): Woke up feeling like shit. I spent like 3 hours walking outside with a combination of walking, jogging & HIIT sprints. I was fasting until dinner time, got a bit of a tan too which was nice lol
--
Day 4 (400mg): Woke up middle of night with a nosebleed. Wasn't bad but I am susceptible to nosebleeds in my right nose sometimese so if you don't have that, you possibly won't. I always wake up feeling like shit now and it feels like being sick in the morning.
--
Day 5 (450mg): Woke up in middle of night with a nosebleed again lol, again it's moderate, couple minutes hovering over the sink and i'm fine. Ate maybe 400-500 cals in the morning & spent hours outside in sunlight walking/jogging/sprinting and workout strength weren't that affected.
--
Day 6 (500mg, today): Same middle of night nosebleed, guessing it will be a common theme. To recap, I always feel like shit in the morning, groggy, usually go back to bed for a few hours after. I normally sleep 7 hours optimally but with DNP I'll sleep roughly 10-13 hours average.
I expect the side effects to be maybe 20% harsher with the 100mg bump from 400-500mg in the next 5 days or so until I stop after day 28.
My honest review so far:
There is a lot of fear mongering with this chemical, and many conflicting posts, with posts like mine saying it's not that bad, to newbies with zero knowledge of this substance saying it's going to destroy the universe.
DNP "sickness" is real, but way overstated. I'm taking this in the summer and I feel "fine" (relatively) ideally in winter and its always high 70s to 80s so far. My room temp is 74-78 average because my AC is ass and I'm alright. In short, don't be stupid. Be in a lower carb diet, combine with strength-training and cardio, take the right supps and you should be relatively fine. I'll notice the heat if I eat like 130g of carbs in one sitting but i'm low-carb in general.
Eating food before taking DNP is a must. You cannot take it on an empty stomach. Even when I take it with a lot of food, I experience mild nausea. Worse if it's just a normal amount of food. Ideally you should split the dose morning and night but it's not bad enough for me to do bother. Maybe I will at 500mg and split the dose.
DO NOT TAKE OVER 500mg, EVER. I also STRONGLY recommend against taking if you're under 18. You don't want to be that dumbass on the news giving DNP a worse rep because you decided to take a gram of it.

Heres the very detailed part of the DNP thread, and one I am glad to make so you guys understand better. If you haven't taken DNP before, you might be curious what I mean when I say I wake up feeling like shit, or how fatigued i felt. So heres an ACTUAL explanation.
--
When I say I wake up feeling like shit everyday. Imagine as a kid when you accidently took a fat 4 hour nap on the couch at night, waking up at maybe 3-4am to then walk to your actual bed feeling groggy and tired as fuck. It is a feeling that sucks, and one that happens every single morning. You feel unrested, very groggy, very warm with mild sweat on your face. However it's not the end of the world though. After I take my lisdexamfetamine & morning cofffee I feel normal.
--
When people say they feel warm 24/7, I always wondered what they meant. Like yeah sure its the summer bro, I go outside and I feel warm. but basically it means that whenever you do any physical activity, you will sweat. no matter what. Every time I workout, I always sweat, like a lot. It isn't uncomfortably sweaty though, and I've never experienced my sweat being yellow or staining my clothes like a few other threads.
If i'm not doing any physical activity, like right now, I feel completely fine. If I think about it, i guess I am "warm" but i've always been like that. Like If I pullout my front-facing camera, my face shines from sweat sure, but there's no actual beads of sweat.
--
My bedsheets and pillowcase tend to be a bit damp in the morning. Think of it as if you took a shower, air-dried for a couple minutes, then hopped into bed. It's not bad though, and not like I have to wash it after either. If you don't already do so, I would recommend washing your sheets weekly regardless of cycling or not.
My resting heart rate is certainly higher, going from 64bpm to 91bpm but to be fair I am also taking 2 stimulants right now. and I do breathe slightly heavier, and sigh more often but not significantly.
Now my honest opinion on whether you should take it:
No, I could never truly recommend DNP to anyone lol. It's like asking if I recommend someone to take alcohol, it's poison at any dose. It is not cheap, difficult to source, don't truly know the quality and what solvents were used unless lab-tested, and it requires solid knowledge of your body and you'll be spending 100+ dollars on a multitude of supplements to counteract it's effects. You should ideally run it with T3, but I don't have it.
However, you can also factor in what is unhealthier. Taking an unhealthy chemical that has a kill count for max a month, or being fat/obese? That decision is up to you.
I hope my post gave you a slightly more educated view on this substance. If you have any questions, please ask in the thread and I'd be more than happy to respond. Below I have listed my meds & supplements taken. Cheers and I wish you all a lean summer
----------------------------------------
Prescribed meds:
40mg Lisdexamfetamine (Vyvanse) | Amazing for appetite control, focus and overall energy
5mg tadalafil (generic Cialis) | Lowers blood pressure, crazy pumps at gym, and improves performance with the ladies
--
Supplements:
NAC 1000mg ($22) | Produces glutathione, very powerful antioxidant that supports liver, immune defense, protects against oxidative stress.
Magnesium Glycinate 200mg ($21) | Magnesium is essential for cell health, muscle contraction and energy production.
Green Tea Extract 400mg ($20) | Powerful antioxidants called catechins (especially EGCG) that help protect cells from oxidative stress
Caffeine 200-350mg ($18) | Reduces fatigue, increase focus and physical performance
Vitamin B Complex ($20) | Helps body convert food into energy and support normal brain function, nerve health, and red blood cell production.
Zinc w/ copper 15mg,1mg ($11) | Helps support immune function, red blood cell formation, and overall metabolic health.
Vitamin C | Supports immune function, helps the body maintain healthy skin, blood vessels, bones etc, good antioxidant
Vitamin D3 50K IU ($12) (used sparingly because it's a macrodose)
I would also recommend a glp-1 like retatrutide or tirzepatide for the appetite suppressant effects, especially if you don't have lisdexamfetamine. My appetite is pretty good though under lisdexamfetamine and caffeine. I should also be taking 5g of creatine regardless of the cycle but I can't be arsed most of the time.
Accessories:
Miligram scale ($24)
000 veggie capsules ($17)
In total, I spent 165 dollars on supplements & accessories to counteract the effects. Thankfully, I already had them so I didn't spend out of pocket.
