I had a referral to an OMFS at a prestigious hospital as my dentist recognized the complexity of my situation.

I have now found out I will not receive care in a timely manner and wish to pursue surgery privately, since I am I will make the most of it and either pair it with implants and/or pay for a more aggressive procedure (Le Fort II/III).

Who should I go to? What should I do?

Thanks a lot I'll mark solution.

But lastly:
I'm in the US and I already contacted a (non-private) OMFS specialist who handles complex procedures, as I said they'd take a year for me to see them.
Would private ones be able to sort everything out much faster than them?
I'm also a UK citizen so should I contact the hospitals you mentioned as they'd be cheaper than ones in the US?

Appreciate it.
As a private patient, aesthetic lefort procedures are generally much cheaper in the uk, you should consult a private OMFS specialist there (who is preferably also specialised in aesthetic procedures).

My dentist referred me to an OMFS at a hospital as he believed I may need more than a simple bimax, the hospital got back to me and I'd need to wait over a year before a scan + consultation.

I'll get a CBCT done this week privately and then I'm not sure where to go from there. I assume any hospital with an OMFS who does a Le Fort II/III will also have a crazy long waitlist, so I'm wondering which surgeons to contact to talk over what procedure I will need and undergo it ASAP?

Get your private CBCT scan done this week and immediately request the full DICOM files along with the report. Prepare a complete package including the CBCT/DICOM files, facial photos from multiple angles, any previous imaging or models, a short summary of your symptoms, and your dentist’s referral notes. Use this package to contact experienced private OMFS specialists who handle complex orthognathic and midface procedures, including potential Le Fort II or III cases. In the UK (or whatever country you live in) , strong starting points are surgeons like Manolis Heliotis at the Wellington Hospital or Harley Street practices, as well as consultants through Circle Health Group or similar private hospital groups.
