2-3 weeks no gym

so basically i have pain in the lower back right position .i do volleyball and gym and at the moment my doctor told me to take break for 2-3 weeks . im 15 years old but i have been going for a year (training at home aswell) and this guy has the audacity to tell me that its because "i overtrain" like man i only get pain after i jump i already insisted on stopping volleyball but i dont want to lose muscle . do i take the break or not?

you have to take a break or you'll harm yourself more than what a 2-3 week break would ever do
