let that sink in, big cultural shift with how certain cultures started being more normalized and how people can find their own subgroup space that kind of thing. it’s very strange since i feel like worldwide events used to feel way more unified. like when the it movie trailer dropped, everyone was talking about it no matter where you went online. same with stuff like pokemon go, endgame, even random big songs or internet moments. it felt like the internet was more centralized and people were all seeing the same things at once. nowadays it feels fragmented.

everyone’s algorithm is so personalized that two people can live in completely different online realities without even realizing it. you can sink deep into whatever niche, fandom, aesthetic, political space, music scene, or subculture you’re in and barely know what’s happening outside of it. there’s less of that “everyone experienced this together” feeling now

something can have hundreds of millions of views and still somehow feel isolated to one side of the internet. the internet used to feel smaller in a weird way despite having less people on it. now it’s gigantic but separated into little bubbles. kinda weird thinking about how fast that shift happened in only a few years and how and the why too

what of it and why? quarantine did play a big role too obviously, but why?
we spend like 1/4 of our day on the phone so ofc time goes fast.

and yes, quarantine did an huge damage to our society.

i can’t believe some people blame quarantine for their “bad social skills.” no, you’re just subhuman. self aware enough to realize you don’t meet the looks threshold, but instead of acknowledging it directly, they try to pin it all on quarantine

what kind though
people living like rats, being in front of a screen for 8 hours a day, eating fastfood everyday and not being in the nature/ seeing the sun for months.

It was also around 2021 Sigma male gigachad memes became really popular which led to popularity of Andrew tate and Clavicular.

Psl and bp becoming mainstream is directly related to Covid lockdown.

yeah, i remember self improvement red pill grifter garbage home workout videos would pop out during quarantine. a lot of it’s just mental masturbating, i wonder if anyone actually went through with any of that garbage and ‘fixed’ themselves after lockdown ended (probably not)

Quarantine is a good litmus test to decide your social hierarchy . Those who bounced back to success after quarantine represents success , those who blame quarantine represents failure .

they were warning people to not play it while driving lol
Sadly in 2016 pokemon go was not that popular in my country. It was dominated by mini militia and clash of clans .

exactly, more people became realized how important looks were subconsciously seeing all the attractive people online in their algorithm meanwhile the subhumans blamed it on “bad social skills.” nah no one just wants to talk to you lol people started realizing looks affect way more socially than they were taught growing up even if they didn’t exactly acknowledge it fully but it’s deep in their subconscious mind cause they keep consuming it.

i suppose centralized personal algorithm feeds was the main contributor to such a big cultural shift. people underestimate how much the internet changed once platforms stopped showing everyone roughly the same content and instead started building completely individualized realities for each person.
