Douglas county is home to Lawrence KS which is a college town (Home to KU - University of Kansas) with a shit ton of libs, that's the dark blue one.

the lighter blue one is Johnson County which is Kansas City suburbs.

in the normal elections with minorities included a state voting republican 62-38 is considered deep red.

But given only 18% of whites in Alabama voted for Harris and only 25% of whites in Arkansas, Kansas looks like California in comparison. 62-38 republican in the whites only map is middle of the road.

In fact if we rank the states whites only most democrat to most republican (50 being the most democratic and 1 being the most republican), Kansas ranks 24/50, while Alabama ranks at 3/50, and Arkansas at 5/50.
