My orthodontist talked about my upper jaw retardation, normally when I look from the outside, my philtrum does not seem to be behind, there is nothing that can be understood from the outside, on the contrary, I have always received compliments from my friends that your front jaw is very beautifully forward and wide, but when I bite and open my teeth, the retardation is understood, my front teeth do not overlap and stand a little bit in front.

Also, when I bite my teeth open like the same, there is a very slight narrowness in my upper jaw compared to the bottom. My orthodontist said that there is not much narrowness in your upper jaw, but my lower jaw is wide and he wants us to widen the top.

My parents do not have this problem, I am not a person who breathes through my mouth, but my sister has the same problem, genetic 😭

I am not yet 18, the orthodontist offered me two options, the best for him was to have double jaw surgery at 18 and wear a palate expander during the surgery, if I refuse to have surgery, I will use the expander and braces for a while, but there is no guarantee of a complete solution. My doctor will show me an information slide about them next week.

What do you think I should do? Is there a chance that I can wear an expander before 18 and have a double chin in 18? Although no difference is understood from the outside, what kind of benefits occur to me when I have surgery?

its not genetic first of all, ask your ortho if you could get mse and wear a facemask to try to pull forward your maxilla
