“I FIGURED I COULD WALK INTO THE LUNCHROOM AND BASICALLY KILL EVERYBODY.”
On May 24th, 1993, after suffering from endless torture for months over his lower-than-average height, 15-year-old Jason Michael Smith entered Upper Perkiomen High School armed with a 9mm Ruger automatic handgun. The teen, who stood at 5′4″, confronted his bully, 6′5″ and 200lbs 16-year-old Michael Swann, during first-period biology class and asked:Smith then proceeded to shoot Swann in the face and said:“You want to make fun of me, motherfucker?”
After which, Smith shot Swann again then went and sat down in the shade of a tree to wait for the police and watch the ambulance arrive. When questioned by police, Smith stated he killed his tormentor because he:“Make fun of me now.”
However, Swann wasn’t Smith’s only target as, when being questioned later by police, the 15-year-old shooter said:“makes me look like an ass.“
Smith pleaded guilty to murder on October 14th, 1993, and was then sentenced to 12 ½ to 25 years in state prison.“It was not just him. I was thinking of other people too…Just random people who give me touble. I figured I could walk into the lunch room and basically kill everybody - or blow up the school. I just hate being pushed around.”
