It's still nothing. You expect a much bigger difference between not-even-5'10" and 6'1"-6'2". If Nishikori tried frauding he could pass as taller and yet he doesnt look that short.

I never understood the obsession with height in the US. Guess it's correlated with things like college sports, in which to become a D1 NCAA athlete you have to be taller than average.

As you can see NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL players are a lot taller than average. NASCAR drivers, MLS players, PGA Golf players and UFC fighters are on the average side because there's dudes of all heights in those sports (height isn't necessary) But they aren't traditionally college sports

Besides that, women like men taller than them. But no woman really needs a 6'3" man to feel protected. A 5'10" man is already much taller than the average 5'4" woman. So I'm sure the obsession with height in America has to do with that, the excessive superfluous materialism, looks stereotypes that only exist there, and the dream parents and specially women have of producing tall children that triumph in college

Every 5'9" guy claims 5'11"-6'0". Whenever a woman says she wants 6'0" or over, she means 5'9" or over. REMEMBER THIS. Height in numbers is almost irrelevant, all that matters is proportions and frame. 5'9" is tall if you aren't stocky-built.

I made a thread months ago with this exact same theory, the height obsession of female muricans has probably something to do with murican sports in which you have to be noticeably taller than average to play it, so any tall guy is seem as athletic/jock by default

in SA height is not a big deal as in murica

In South America (at least in Argentina, for what I know) it doesn't matter. What makes you stand out is being good looking face-wise and having a nice body. Also being NT, playing some sport like football (soccer for muricans) or rugby boosts you status. But that's it really. I never heard a woman say "X guy is too short for me". If they say a guy is too short it's talking about a giga manlet like 157 cm. And the average height in Argentina for women is 5'3" (160 cm), one inch lower than the US average and this is counting all the ethnic women from the north of the country which descend from Bolivians and Peruvians and are short. The average in the big white cities is closer to the Central Euro average (176 cm for men and 163 for women, around that). Being tall is probably a halo but nobody mentions it so its either totally subconscious or simply not true.
