I am norwood 2, I wanna preserve serum DHT as much as I can, is daily topical dutasteride better than finasteride? from what I can see it doesn't penetrate into the blood since it's a larger molecule but I wanna hear some opinions. Since dutasteride is essentially better..

dnr after norwood 2

your life is over now, officially.

hope it was a good run

Are you sure it is NW2, and not just a little bit past NW1? You might be comparing yourself to NW0, not NW1. Technically NW1 is the adult "default" male hairline with only so slightly super mildly receded temples I'd say. I am also slightly just over NW1 but nowhere near NW2, which I too maybe thought I was before, before I realized I was comparing myself to my old NW0 lol..

As for your OP serum DHT is useless for bone development and as for bones themselves there is very little 5-ar activity and only type 1 iso-enzyme, bone development is nearly all T-mediated. IMO you can suppress DHT and it likely won't affect anything bones development wise.

And yeah topical dutasteride might actually SUCK, molecules might be too big to even effectively cross the skin, requires special lipophilic formulation too while finasteride can be dissolved into alcohol etc. Oral dutasteride is superior to finasteride both topical and oral, but topical finasteride might be superior to topical dutasteride. Also oral finasteride wouldn't affect the small amount of 5-ar type 1 iso-enzyme present in bones, while dutasteride in theory would. Still think DHT is likely close to useless for bone development though and sibling studies in normal vs 5-ar deficient siblings prove DHT has no to very little effects on skeletal and facial development.

Thanks for high effort reply, I will send you an image of my hairline/corners in priv chat, as for my motive for preserving serum DHT well it's just my own personal thing, I really feel uncool with myself if I inhibit my ''male'' hormone. I'm 21 for reference btw so it's not like I got any more development but it's still kind of yk yk for me..
