im barely few years in and i feel the same

fucking 1 hour 20 mins commute each way. 12 hours of my life 5 days week in this fake bullshit . the fact that i have to fake smiles & talk is even worse

Some schools (like East Asian ones) can have quite brutal regimen and expect their students to be pretty much no lifers.
And separated gender schools might be better for studying but suck for socialization.
My school wasn't East Asian but I'm still taking exams and getting late in dreams, over 10 years after finishing it.

yeah my social life is pretty fucked tbh but my school's in the uk

i feel like a 9-5 would be nicer because i would get paid and i wouldnt really have to "stress" per say after my 9-5

like i could freely watch TV or play games

It really is. Miserable pay for consistent 40+ hour weeks, locked in to the hellish nightmare with no escape. There has to be a way out for enterprising geniuses like ourselves

Very much depends on the job. Some may be physically hard but absolutely not taxing mentally. Some expect you to do overtime, some are hyper competitive and you come home mentally drained. I'm in IT/software sphere and while many people outside think it's a dream job, there are it's own issues, delusional and demanding bosses, employee performance metrics, throwing people under a bus and backstabbing to get into better position/better bonus and so on.
