I got it as a result from malocclusion. There’s a way to fix it but I need ramus widening during bsso. Can custom plates fix this or smtn?

Explanation?
It can work in some cases but is rly dependent on harmony. You can dm me a pic if you want

I’ve seen research papers where a combined approach with a large modified like genioplasty and jaw shaving for the notch but maybe custom cut and plates can work

This is very hard to treat

Who are some good people I can tag that are knowledgeable on this type of stuff I don’t pm or talk to much here

trimax with downgrafting but case dependent, need to share front/side to determine

If you have a short chin just do a vertical genioplasty

If it is actually 90 degrees then you will need jaw surgery

I heard of down grafting but never studied it interesting. I watched an animation but does it increase fwhr since ur bringing the maxilla downwards?

Csnt because it will look weird with the gonial angle but I do agree when I jut my jaw and increase its height I ascend hard asf

downgraft lf2 will decrease fwhr not lf1
Alright yea that’s good bc I don’t rlly need any more vertical length. I still need to measure my fwhr properly. So wait since the angle is 90 degrees custom plates can be used to alter the angle I assume?

yes, when downgrafting the cut is on the horizontal part of the mandible keeping the ramus in the same position.

Do you think a combined approach with ramus widen during bsso can still work because my jaw is narrow like shit

I just realized this might now work but I have an insane ramus length I’ll pm

Bump + other thoughts?

i have an almost 90° due to sfs

looks good on me.

Here’s a case for example that looks identical to mine. I still feel as if downgrafting won’t work for this especially if your mandible plane isn’t steep and would look uncanny because of the vertical height ur adding along with a large ramus

why would u need ramus widening if u got minecraft block jaw already :feelsuhh:

Because my jaw is narrow ash and I need more bigonial width and mandible to show :feelswhy::feelswhy:

I’m gonna tag the only surgeon here in hopes he respond..
@RealSurgerymax

Holy fuck this takes like 10 mins of research

Maxillary downgrafting and CW rotation.

Then if needed you can add height with genioplasty.

I don’t think you understand how blocky my side profile is I don’t think just that will solve the issue without looking uncanny ash
