Yo, just wanted to share my aspirations and receive some personal advice from guys who've looked into this deeper than I have.

Currently, I'm 16 years old and a Varsity offensive guard for my football team, but I'm starting to make changes to my athletic life and what I want to do in the future. This season, I'm 6'1" and about ~240lbs (had a 245lb goal set by my team's strength & conditioning coach in Oct. 2025, but could nearly hurl looking at myself at that weight). Prior to my aforementioned goal set by my team's strength & conditioning staff, I was about 225lbs. Additionally, just to help paint a picture, these are some other stats that I feel are relevant and I'll probably see some change in:
- %23-25 BF
- ~285lbs Bench Press
- 515lb Back Squat

Now, on top of football, I also do practice Muay Thai. I've been doing it for about 4-5 months and the only thing standing in my way of it right now is football (I've had to take time off from Muay Thai cause it). I'm fairly competent in the martial art, train with really good people who fight in Thailand & big stages, and personally love it a lot more than football (would suggest to anyone reading this who's been considering it to try). My size has been great for my natural power, and of course I move well despite my size thanks to my sport background, it's a blast. Now though, I've decided that at the end of my current football season, I'll be parting ways with football to pursue my larger love for Muay Thai.

This is all to say, I'm moving towards a calorie deficit plan because I won't need this extra BS weight if I'm not running gap schemes. I've looked to this forum to try and some guides, but I feel like none of them have the nuance behind my larger goal. I'm fine with remaining in the heavyweight division or at least on the cusp of it for Muay Thai, I'm just hoping to undo the body fat over my lifetime of football and conserve as much of my muscle gains as possible. Laugh it up if you want, but I've consulted Claude.ai on this and I'm trying to do research specific for an athlete like me, rather than following a guide for a guy making an aesthetical change.

In my 16 years of life, this will be the most initiative I've taken with my diet, but I'm hungry for success. For anyone who's been in the same boat, or just has some general advice, it'd be greatly appreciated.
